The conference will take place at Kingston University's Dorich House

Described as "a simply unique venue", it is a fascinating example of 1930s modernism and stands on the Kingston side of Richmond Park, London SW15. Its severe and forbidding exterior conceals a warm and exotic interior created by the unusual and bohemian couple who owned it. Since 1994, Dorich House has been renovated and sensitively restored by Kingston University who now care for the house and its superb collections of sculpture and Russian Imperial art. It has been developed as a resource and study centre and was awarded Registered Museum status in 2004. Other awards include in 1997 a Townscape Award, Kingston Upon Thames Society and in 1998 a Civic Trust Award, Commendation.

The address is Dorich House Museum, 67 Kingston Vale,London SW15 3RN. Coming from Central London (east), it is located on the right hand side just before Woodview Close. Kingston University's Kingston Hill Campus is almost opposite on the right. The venue is on London's travelcard zone 6.

Public Transport:

From Central London, we recommend overground train to Putney station or underground to Putney Bridge. From there, take the 85 bus toward Kingston and get off at Woodside Close (London buses use GPS and each stop is displayed and announced). The previous stop is called Robin Hood

From Heathrow Airport, you can take buses X26 (fast), 111 or 285 to Kingston's Cromwell Road Bus Station, from where you can take buses 85 (toward Putney) and K3 (toward Roehampton Vale).

If taking a taxi, not all drivers might be familiar with Dorich House, so ask for Kingston Vale pass Robin Hood.

By car

Please note that there are only 18 car park spaces at Dorich House, so please let us know in advance if you intend to come by car and we will try our best to reserve a place. There are also places where to park (free) in the nearby streets.

This single-track conference will use the three floors of Dorich House, providing ample opportunity for networking and also admiring the works of art in the House. The main sessions will take place in the Picture Gallery, shown below.
